Alright guys...we all know brown rice isn't the easiest thing to cook.
However, it's such an important part of a healthy diet that we can't get bored of it.
Here's an easy-to-make, SUPER-YUMMY recipe for brown rice.
RED brown rice with an optional "beef or turkey tweak" at bottom!
Ingredients: 1 Box of Uncle Ben's Instant (10 min) BROWN rice (2 cups)
1/2 red Onion
3 cloves of Garlic
1.5 Tbsp Olive Oil
4 tbsp. Tomato Paste
2tbsp. Curry Powder (Indian yellow curry available at all major supermarkets)
Salt and pepper to taste (approx. 2tbsp of each) - add a bit at a time and test to prevent over salting
*I recommend and personally ONLY use Real Salt
4 1/4 cup of Water
Instructions: Chop the onion and garlic and saute in pot with Olive oil for approx. 10 minutes or until golden. Add in Tomato Paste
Add all spices
Add water
Add rice
Bring to a boil then cover and turn down heat to medium-low and let cook for 10min
Fluff with a fork and ENJOY!!!
*Optional beef or turkey tweak Before adding tomato paste, add one tray of ground beef 4 or 7% or ground turkey breast ~ cook & breakdown thoroughly before adding tomato paste and spices. Continue with instructions.
